3 WAYS TO WEAR // RUFFLE SWEATER

I picked this top up at Juju in Pittsburgh, a couple of weeks before we left.  I absolutely love the pretty ruffles around the neckline and the top, and those gently fluted sleeves well they're something special aren't they?  As soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be a great addition to my collection.  The shape is perfect for me (it broadens my narrow shoulders so they're in proportion with  my wider hips) and I instantly had three or four outfit ideas in my head when I tried it on.  Visualizing outfits is something I often do when I’m trying on a clothes, I really try to avoid purchasing items that will have limited wear and try to go for clothes that I know will work with what I already have.

Add to this the fact that it's bang on trend for fall/winter 2016, ticking all the boxes for the romantic, Victoriana trend, I knew it would be a great piece to carry me (kicking and screaming) into fall.  I've been seeing tops like this everywhere so although this one isn't available you can still grab one that's just as brilliant.  Check out my favorites at the end of this post!

Cropped pants - Zara / Top - Juju / Shoes - Vince Camuto
I feel so chic in this outfit and it's such a simple one to pull together.  I'm finding myself tucking my tops into these pants most of the time as the cropped leg has a tendency to shorten my legs, and with short legs already I'll do anything I can to avoid shortening them further.

Top - Juju / Skirt - Warehouse / Shoes - Topshop / Rings - The Rogue and the Wolf and FabIndia
I love the contrast here between the edgy leather and the feminine top. I wanted to change up the look of the top a little so I added a thin leather cord to the neckline.  It doesn't really serve any purpose, it's purely antithetical. When the weather cools off a little I'll layer a white (or nude) long sleeve top underneath the sweater, add a pair of tights and swap my platformed peep toes for a pair of ankle boots - can't wait!

Top - Juju / Jeans - Levis -/ Boots - Ted and Muffy
This outfit is the closet I've got to wearing a fall outfit to date.  I wanted to dress the top down a little and these ripped jeans do that brilliantly!  While we're talking about this outfit I'm going to have to mention the boots.  They're from a fantastic British retailer, Ted and Muffy (Formally, Duo and available in the USA), they are one of my favorite places to shop for shoes and boots as they offer three width fittings for shoes and around 20 calf widths for boots, but unlike many shoe shops for narrow/wide feet the styles are contemporary and on trend.  My feet are ridiculously narrow and I always struggle to find footwear that my feet don't swim around in so when I discovered Ted and Muffy offered narrow widths that actually fit me I was over the moon!  Oh and FYI, this is NOT a sponsored post!!
