Al and I have been really lucky to travel lots while we’ve been living in India, but it occurred to me that I’ve not really shared our trips with you. So I’ve decided to trial a new travel section on the blog sharing our favourite places along with our recommendations on where to stay, eat and shop as well as our favourite things to do and see.
First up - Nepal
Wow, we loved it! It’s not that far from Bangalore but it was TOTALLY different to anything we’d seen. The architecture is stunning…it feels like you’re walking around a living museum. The people are friendly and the momo’s; delicious! We only had five days there but managed to squeeze a lot in, if we can , we’re hoping to go back and do a trek.

Gaia Restaurant & Coffee Shop in Thamel, just round the corner from our accomodation in Kathmandu and one of the best places we found for breakfast. They served delicious Nepali chai
Café Beyond in Bhaktapur for yummy Korean food. Get a table in the garden for a view over the hills of Bhaktpur
Whatsala Garden in Bhaktapur. We didn't eat here but enjoyed drinks by candlelight.

FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO
Shopping in Durbar Square in Bhaktapur, it's a great place to find handmade cards and decorations. I found some great Christmas decorations.

It was about 18 degrees in the day and fairly warm in the sunshine but when the sun went down the temperature dropped to about 5 degrees so I layered, layered and layered some more. I pretty much lived in a sweater, jeans and chucks and layered this with a beanie and blanket scarf.
